Project practice

Project practice:Virtual accounts, FX bureau operations and transaction monitoring, anonymised delivery summaries

UpayAsia delivers end-to-end payments, RegTech and operations systems. Below are three representative anonymised project cases — a virtual-account platform, FX bureau compliance operations, and transaction monitoring — covering problem context, architecture, modules and outcomes (no client names; actual scope depends on case review and contract).

DELIVERY METHOD

Start from business pain points, then design architecture that can go live in phases

Each project first clarifies licence boundaries, fund flows and compliance requirements, then plans technical architecture. The cases below summarise real delivery directions; details are anonymised.

  • Problem definition: clarify regulatory boundaries, operating processes and gaps in existing systems.
  • Architecture design: multi-tenant/multi-branch, API adapters, compliance middle platform and full-path audit.
  • Module delivery: go live progressively from MVP → expansion → white-label/multi-branch.
  • Operations readiness: training, SOP, reporting and ongoing compliance support.
Case 01

Named virtual account (Virtual Account) platform

Build a layered Master VA and individual/corporate Sub-VA account structure for licensed or near-licensed clients, with embedded RegTech and bank onboarding advisory — supporting white-label virtual account/payment partner access.

Problem context

Bank virtual-account onboarding is complex; individual and corporate Sub-VAs need layered management with high audit requirements; white-label partners need independent portals while KYC/AML must stay centrally controlled.

Architecture design

Multi-tenant platform with Master VA as root and Sub-VA as child nodes; bank API adapter layer unifies account status and credit notifications; RegTech engine embedded in onboarding and transactions; white-label layer isolates permissions and data while the principal retains review rights.

Feature modules

VA account-tree management, bank onboarding advisory tickets, KYC/AML/risk screening, white-label merchant portal, admin console maker-checker and audit log.

Delivery outcomes

An operable multi-tenant VA platform (Web admin console+white-label portal+REST API); compliance embedded from onboarding to credit; white-label templates for faster partner access.

Case 02

FX bureau compliance operations system

Build a closed loop of member App, HQ Admin and in-store exchange for multi-branch FX/bureau merchants — covering quotes, bookings, buy/sell, remittance, cash inventory and end-of-day management.

Problem context

Multi-branch sites need unified FX quotes but cash inventory and exchange flows differ widely; member bookings disconnect from in-store exchange; buy/sell and remittance involve MSO compliance that manual processes struggle to support under inspection.

Architecture design

Three-end architecture: member App, HQ Admin, in-store exchange POS; multi-branch RBAC; FX engine; compliance middle platform; cash inventory module.

Feature modules

Member onboarding KYC and bookings, Admin quoting and end-of-day, in-store redemption and cash handling, remittance tickets, compliance screening and full audit trail.

Delivery outcomes

Three-end apps for iOS/Android/Web; multi-branch RBAC and end-of-day reports; extensible APIs to external KYC or ERP (case by case).

Such projects can be planned together with AML/customer management systems, MSO licence services and bill payout.

Case 03

Transaction monitoring platform

Build a rules-driven transaction monitoring system for licensed financial institutions — covering card transaction monitoring, alert grading, maker-checker review, investigation notes and relationship-graph analysis, plus end-to-end audit trail.

Problem context

After volume growth, manual sampling cannot cover risk; alert rules are fragmented; suspicious activity needs complete investigation records and maker-checker trails; data silos hinder relationship analysis.

Architecture design

Configurable rules engine, event-stream processing, case-management closed loop, relationship-graph engine, full-path Audit.

Feature modules

Rule configuration and versioning, card TX monitoring, alert grading and SLA, Maker-checker, investigation notes, Relationship graph, Audit trail export.

Delivery outcomes

A monitoring platform with configurable rules; investigation workbench on one screen; API and webhook connectivity to core banking, payments or AML/CRM systems.

Common delivery elements across the three project types

Embedded compliance, layered permissions, Audit, API and phased delivery are shared planning priorities across all three.

Do the cases map to specific clients?

The three cases above are anonymised summaries of delivery directions and do not include client names, brands or contract details. Actual project scope depends on mutual confirmation and applicable law.

Can only some modules be delivered?

Yes. Many clients start with core modules (such as VA account management, an FX quoting engine or transaction-monitoring rules), then expand to a full platform.

Does this include licence applications?

For licence-related services, see Licensing and professional services; they can be planned in parallel with technical projects.

Does RegTech depend on a specific third party?

Projects may connect compliance data sources designated by the client or selected jointly; we handle system integration, process design and audit capability. Public materials do not cite third-party brand names.

Can this integrate with UpayAsia payment products?

Yes. Project delivery can be planned together with multi-channel collection, settlement, bill payout and AML/CRM.
